The Bihar Museum in Patna, Bihar exhibits the prehistory and early history of Bihar as well as the rise of Magdha and subsequent dynasties in chronological order.

Thematic zones take you through the growth of Buddhism and Jainism, the Mauryan Empire and Ashoka. Other important sections include the Gupta Empire, the important Mahaviharas, the Pala Dynasty, the Middle Ages and the Mughal rule.

One of the galleries houses a visible repository. It is a terracotta collection from Bihar and other important historical sites of the Indian subcontinent. This gallery also houses the coin collection. There is historical and regional art as well as an exhibition dealing with the diaspora in Bihar.

The exhibitions comprise a total of 6 galleries, for which Glasbau Hahn has supplied around 200 showcases. These are custom-made wall, free-standing and table showcases. The free-standing showcases are manufactured with and without plinths. There are also cabinets with shelves and with vertical pull-outs.
